I fell in love with Barcelona many years ago. I think I was here for the first time when I was around 22, maybe even younger. Over the years, I continued visiting, spending countless weekends here with friends. I bought my first home in Barcelona when I turned 31, and I love living here. Now my family is here and I believe I will be here forever even if nothing is forever. Barcelona is one of the best cities in the world. It has everything. This is my Barcelona.
Sagrada Família
The great masterpiece of architect Antoni Gaudí and one of the finest examples of modernist architecture. Construction began in 1882, and Gaudí oversaw the monumental project until the day of his death. I highly recommend visiting this incredible place. I still remember my first visit as if it were yesterday—the experience is truly surreal.
Palau de la Música Catalana
A stunning concert hall and architectural gem. I have been here so many times. Me and my friend Henrik went as often we could on violin concerts that I love. It's the perfect spot for those who appreciate beautiful design and want to experience world-class culture.
Tibidabo
A mountain overlooking Barcelona, offering stunning panoramic views of the city. The area is also home to an amusement park and the beautiful Temple of the Sacred Heart. I use my running shoes here a lot.
To mention a few...
El Xampanyet – A classic cava (can be supercrowdy) bar in El Born where you can enjoy glasses of cava and traditional tapas in a lively, authentic atmosphere.
Green Spot
Before or after visiting the cava bar mentioned above, you must stop by my absolute favorite spot next door. I used to live and work nearby, so I’ve been here countless times. Here are my friends. Amazing food (veggie for veggies, veggie for non veggies) and atmosphere and the staff is amazing. The whole group of restaurants in Tragaluz are by the way amazing. Check online which ones.
Paradiso – A speakeasy bar ranked as one of the best in the world. Enter through a refrigerator door in a deli and discover a world of imaginative cocktails in a sophisticated setting. This is cool!
Parking Pizza – If you're a pizza lover, this is a must-visit spot in Barcelona. Best pizza in town. Love!
The best one of the numbers of locations - is where it all started at Pg. Sant Joan.
Fiser - I eat lunch here ever so and then. The restaurant is known for its elegant ambiance, featuring contemporary décor and a welcoming atmosphere. The menu emphasizes seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients, crafted into innovative dishes that highlight both classic and contemporary flavors.
Passeig de Gràcia
One of the most important and impressive avenues in Barcelona. Among many important shops and offices you will also find some of the most recognized works by architects Antoni Gaudí such as Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. Both are worth a visit.
El Born District – Full of small boutiques offering everything from locally designed clothing to unique home décor. Perfect for those seeking a more personal shopping experience. I used to have my studio here and many of the products of by Benson was created here. See the photo - me in the Garden Suit outside my studio. Visit Vila Viniteca for great wines and delicacies and Carolina Blue for some interior design.
The Gòtic Quarter is the historic heart of Barcelona, characterized by its labyrinthine streets, medieval architecture, and charming squares. I used to live here many years and walked here countless times, especially with my dog K, and it’s also where I spent much of my time during the COVID-19 lockdown. Visit Hotel Neri for a refreshing drink and enjoy sitting outside on the historic and deeply atmospheric square.
MACBA
A hub for contemporary art lovers, MACBA showcases an impressive collection of modern art from the mid-20th century to the present. Located in my hold neigborhood the vibrant Raval. The museum also hosts a variety of exhibitions, performances, and cultural events, making it a dynamic spot for both art enthusiasts and those seeking to explore Barcelona’s creative scene. Whenever my friend Lulu is in town we go.
Teatre Liceu
Barcelona’s renowned opera house, is a historic venue that hosts world-class opera, ballet, and classical music performances. The opulent interior and rich history make attending a performance here a memorable cultural experience.
The best thing about Barcelona is its proximity to the ocean. However, I was never a big fan of the beaches there, primarily due to their crowds. I always sought a peaceful place outside the city and frequently visited Sant Pol de Mar. Then, I discovered Sitges, just 35 kilometers south of Barcelona, and found it to be one of the most beautiful places I know. Famous for its stunning Mediterranean beaches, Sitges offers a unique blend of cultural richness, beautiful beaches, and a lively atmosphere. It's a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the Catalonia region. My current hometown.

Located right by the beach and offering stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, Hotel Arts Barcelona is a luxury hotel with elegant rooms, a beautiful outdoor pool, and a world-class spa. The hotel also features several fine dining options and is known for its impeccable service and sophisticated ambiance. On of our best hotels.
